These Terms of Sale ("Terms") govern your purchase of The Relocation Manual (the "Product") through this website and its checkout. Please read them before you buy. By completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms.
"We" and "us" mean The Relocation Manual, the seller of the Product. Full seller identification and contact details are published on our Legal Notice page. For all questions, support, and legal notices, contact support@therelocationmanual.com.
The Product is a digital download: a single ZIP package containing eight files —
Everything is delivered electronically. Nothing is shipped physically.
The price — $99.00 USD, one-time — is shown on the product page and at checkout. Payment is taken in full at the time of purchase through Shopify's checkout, using Shopify Payments (Shop Pay and major cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). We do not see or store your full card details. Applicable taxes, where due, are calculated and shown at checkout. On your card or bank statement, the charge may appear as "SP The Relocation Manu".
Delivery is immediate and digital. After successful payment, your download link appears on the order confirmation page and is also sent to your email address, typically within a few minutes.
If anything goes wrong with your download — the email does not arrive, a link stops working, or a file will not open — email support@therelocationmanual.com with your order number and we will re-issue your download link. This is a standing support commitment: see Section 11 on ongoing access, and our Refund Policy for the full list of problems we always fix.
Your purchase grants you a personal, single-user, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use the Product for your own purposes, including your own relocation. You may:
You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly post, resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Product's content, or any substantial portion of it. In plain terms: don't share the files, don't upload them anywhere public, and don't sell or repackage what's in them.
This license restricts copying of our content — not your own work. We claim no rights over facts, ideas, or general know-how, and nothing here prevents you from independently creating your own products or materials.
The Product and its contents — text, structure, templates, the tracker, and guides — are protected by copyright and remain the property of The Relocation Manual. Your purchase transfers the license in Section 5, not ownership of the content. Names of third parties (government agencies, banks, services) appear for reference only; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary:
The Product is an informational and organizational resource designed to help you prepare for and navigate relocation and French administration. It is not legal, tax, immigration, financial, healthcare, insurance, employment, or housing advice, and buying it does not create any professional-client relationship. It does not guarantee any outcome — no visa, permit, appointment, approval, or decision by any préfecture, consulate, landlord, bank, employer, or other third party.
French administrative rules, fees, forms, and processing channels change. The Product includes an Official Source Verification Guide precisely because you should verify current requirements through official sources before acting, and consult a qualified professional for complex or high-risk situations.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Product is provided "as is," without warranties beyond those the law requires. This section does not exclude or limit any statutory guarantee or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any legal guarantee of conformity that applies to digital content supplied to consumers.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the Product. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Once you have downloaded your files, they are yours to keep under the Section 5 license — they do not expire, and no subscription is required.
You receive ongoing access to the edition you purchased: we may release minor updates and corrections to it free of charge, and if you ever lose your files, we will re-issue your download link on request through support@therelocationmanual.com. We intend to keep download links available for the long term, but we cannot promise that the hosted download service itself will exist in perpetuity — which is why we encourage you to download and back up your files, and why the files you have downloaded always remain yours.
Major new editions (for example, other countries) and premium add-ons are separate products.
Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Product are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Forum. Subject to the mandatory-rights paragraph below, the state and federal courts located in New York, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
Your mandatory local rights. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country or state of habitual residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement. If you reside in the EU, EEA, or UK, you retain the mandatory consumer protections of your home jurisdiction (including any statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights), and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where the law so provides.
No mandatory arbitration. Disputes are resolved in the courts identified above. These Terms contain no mandatory binding arbitration and no class-action waiver.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability, or excludes any right, that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted at this address at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to your order.
